K+N is a worldwide customer of Goodman. On completion of Phase 1 of the Goodman Pudong International Airport Logistics Park in August 2013, K+N signed a lease agreement with Goodman for a 17,500 sqm warehouse facility to house one of its key customers, a medical equipment supplier.
Kuehne + Nagel's (K+N) customer, a medical supplier, required a warehouse power capacity which was greater than the local government standard source of 1,000KVA. To upgrade the capacity, would require local government approval.
The challenge facing K+N was how best to approach their application to the local authorities to ensure that they could efficiently and effectively meet the needs of their customer.
As Kuehne + Nagel's (K+N) logistics facilities provider, Goodman proactively responded to the challenge presented. Goodman investigated various options, including the feasibility of re-building a dedicated power supply cable for K+N and approached the local government authorities on K+N’s behalf. Goodman prepared the submission for K+N and following several rounds of negotiations with the local government, Goodman secured permission to undertake the upgrade power works on behalf of K+N.
During the construction period, Goodman supported all on-site coordination ensuring the upgrade proceeded smoothly. A dedicated 1,200KVA large capacity power supply cable was completed, which perfectly met K+N's extraordinary power requirements.
Goodman’s success in negotiating the critical upgrade to the power supply for Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) ensured that K+N could satisfy their own customer’s needs, delivering a highly satisfied outcome for all parties.
