Wednesday, 14 October 2015

Goodman Group (Goodman or Group), the global integrated property group which owns, develops and manages industrial space, has held a ground breaking ceremony for its flagship project in Southern China, Goodman Huiyang Industrial Park in Huiyang, Huizhou city.

Goodman Huiyang Industrial Park is located within an hour’s drive from Shenzhen and a total of 232,644 sqm of prime logistics space will be developed, with an estimated end value of RMB 934 million. In addition to providing modern warehousing facilities, it will be a key location for customers looking to establish regional distribution centres and streamline their operations. The project is to be undertaken in phases, with 70,330 sqm scheduled for completion by September 2016.

Goodman Huiyang Industrial Park is strategically located in the southern part of Huizhou city in Guangdong Province, within the Huiyang Economic Development Zone, one of the most important economic zones in China’s southern region. It is in close proximity to the Huizhou port, and offers convenient access, via high speed train and major expressways, to the key economic cities in the Pearl River Delta region.

Philip Pearce, Goodman’s Managing Director Greater, China said, “As we expand our footprint across China, we are excited to commence our first project in Southern China. Given the excellent connectivity to land, sea and air transportation, and Goodman’s proven ability to meet customers’ specific requirements, we are confident that this project will be well received in the market.”

Goodman is also planning to develop Goodman Boluo Logistics Park, a second logistics and distribution facility in Huizhou city. With the first phase of 55,000 sqm scheduled for completion in September 2016, this development will comprise a single storey warehouse, providing a total of 145,000 sqm of premium logistics space. Located between Shenzhen, Dongguan and Guangzhou, Goodman Boluo Logistics Park’s connectivity to the major expressways places it within an hour’s drive of all three cities.

Mr Pearce added, "Southern China is an important part of our strategic expansion plan and we aim to invest a significant amount of capital and resources here. With our strong track record globally and in China, we are well-positioned to benefit from the growing demand for prime logistics space in this region.”

Goodman currently has ten developments underway in key cities including Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenyang, Tianjin, Chongqing, Chengdu, Wuhan, Xi’an, Suzhou, Qingdao, and Hefei.
