Goodman secures two global logistics service providers for its newly completed development in Tianjin, China

Tuesday, 18 November 2014

Goodman Group (Goodman or Group), the global integrated property group which owns, develops and manages industrial space, is pleased to announce that it has signed new lease agreements with two leading global logistics companies, DSV Global Transport and Logistics (DSV), and Sankyu Group (Sankyu) for a combined 18,994 sqm at Goodman Xiqing Logistics Park in Tianjin, China.

DSV, a leading global supplier of transport and logistics solutions, is leasing 12,000 sqm of prime logistics space at Goodman Xiqing Logistics Park to fulfil a contract on behalf of its customer, Rockwool, an international manufacturer of building materials. Sankyu, a leading Japanese third party logistics provider, currently runs a warehousing facility in Xiqing to serve its many customers. In response to the rapid expansion of its business, Sankyu has leased 6,424 sqm at Goodman Xiqing Logistics Park.

Located in the Xiqing Economic Development Zone, one of the most established development zones in Tianjin, Goodman Xiqing Logistics Park has excellent accessibility to the expressway network. It has a direct connection to Tianjin via the Jinzi Highway, and to Tianjin Port via the Changshen Expressway. The strategic location and high quality logistics space on offer, make Goodman Xiqing Logistics Park the ideal choice for DSV and Sankyu, who are both seeking to expand their presence in Tianjin.

Philip Pearce, Managing Director Greater China for Goodman, said, “We are delighted to welcome DSV and Sankyu to our new development in Tianjin, which highlights Goodman’s proven approach to delivering flexible, high quality logistics property solutions for our customers throughout China.”

Mr Pearce added, “Rising domestic consumption and e-commerce customers in China are driving the demand for logistics services, which in turn has boosted the demand for modern logistics facilities across China. We will continue to undertake targeted investment in prime locations to secure high quality opportunities for our customers and investors.”

Goodman Xiqing Logistics Park
is being developed in multiple phases. The first phase of the development was completed in October 2014. On completion of the overall development in early 2017, the project will comprise a total of nine warehouses, providing over 210,000 sqm of prime logistics space, with an estimated end value of more than US$120 million.
